Hello Family! This is Bobbie Jo. Pearl and Stanley were my great-grandparents. I remember Pearl very well because she lived with my grandmother (Shelvie Jane) for many years. And Teresa is my mother.

Now that you know who I am, here’s what happened. At the 2024 reunion in NC, some of us were sitting around talking about the reunion photos we have, the Facebook group we’re in, the family tree, DNA testing, invitations to next year’s reunion, and a bunch of other stuff. Someone said out loud exactly what I was thinking . . . “Wouldn’t it be nice if all this stuff was in one place that we could all have easy access to?” I mean, after all, we live in several different states and have very busy lives!! Sometimes communication is tough and that is a lot of information!! The only way I could think of, was making a website with everything on it. Here’s the result of that discussion.

How did I get involved? Yeah, that would be Grandma’s fault (Shelvie Jane). For as long as I can remember, she asked me for help with the reunions. I think I was 12 years old (could’ve been 13 or 14) when she asked me to bring together a bunch of family history information into a small book and make tons of copies to hand out at the reunion. After that, it was making the invitations to mail out to everyone. Ancestry.com came along and I put everything from the small book into my online family tree. A year or 2, I helped her with the auction. When she passed the baton of organizing the reunions down to the next generation, I stayed involved and have continued to do research on our tree and gather tales and photos.

So this whole website is from my perspective, with the exception of the “Thomas Tales” page. As you send me tales and photos, proper credit will be given to you on those pages.

I try to stay away from using last names as a rule, just because this page is public, but if you’d rather I use your last name, let me know.
